When we were in Port Macquarie visiting friends, we wanted to give our friends a break from our friendly, and likeable selves . We headed off to find the Black Duck Brewery. When we arrived at the brewery and parked, we were greeted almost immediately by a huge black Great Dane! He just loped over and wanted to be petted. Being dog people, we petted him and let him follow us into the brewery. I can’t imagine the reaction he gets when he greets guests who are afraid of big dogs! That said, he was a sweetheart.

The brewery has two locations. We stopped at the actual brewery in an industrial area. The second location is in downtown Port Macquarie. They serve several types of beer and prepackaged snacks.
They had a good selection of beers on tap. All of the craft breweries also served wine.
Quite a few beers were in the aging process.
The beer we drank was pretty good!
It never ceases to amaze us when an owner of a small business is present and doesn’t try to meet/introduce themselves to his/her customers. When we were at Black Duck, the owner sat at the opposite end of the table from us and proceeded to gab with his buddy and look at fishing magazines. We thought he could have made an effort to introduce himself not only to us, but to other patrons in the brewery.
